Short Curriculum Vitae

    He finished his Elementary Education at Parang Elementary School in 1982 and his Secondary Education at Marikina Institute of Science and Technology. Obtained his Bachelor of Arts (AB) Major in Philosophy from University of Santo Tomas in 1990, his Master of Arts (MA) in Filipino Literature from the Ateneo de Manila University in 2001, and his Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Filipino from the University of the Philippines-Diliman in 2010. Currently serves as a literature professor at the Ateneo de Manila University's Arts Faculty. In addition, he holds the position of Secretary-General for the Philippine Union of Writers.

 Michael M. Coroza is a Full Professor and former Chair (2020 - 2023) of the Department of Filipino, School of Humanities, Ateneo de Manila University. He is a graduate and undergraduate teacher of literary translation, creative writing (poetry), and Filipino literature. A multi-awarded poet, essayist, literary translator, and editor, he was granted the Ani ng Dangal (Harvest of Honor) Award by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) of the Republic of the Philippines in 2009 and the S.E.A. Write Award (Southeast Asian Writers Award) by the Royalty of Thailand in 2007.
